A white background keeps attention on the subject and is easy to place in a catalog or document. It is different from transparency: the exported background contains white pixels, even when the file format could support an alpha channel.
Before you start
Start with the highest-quality source you have. Decide whether the destination needs a square image, a landscape crop, or the original proportions. If you are preparing marketplace photos, check that marketplace’s current requirements; a white background alone does not guarantee acceptance.
Step by step
- Upload the photo and let Clearcut remove the existing background.
- Open Background → Color and select white, or enter #ffffff. Turn off Gradient background if it is enabled.
- Use Cutout to clean up any scraps of the previous background. Restore light parts of the subject if they were accidentally removed.
- Choose the canvas shape and subject size using the layout controls. Keep the whole product visible and leave a consistent margin.
- Download JPG for an opaque white image, or PNG if you prefer that format. Keep Full resolution for the final copy.
Check the result
Inspect white clothing, pale packaging, and reflective edges. They can blend into the new background even if they are present in the cutout. A small, soft shadow may help define an object when your destination permits shadows.
Keep in mind
For a batch, settle the crop and margins on one representative photo first. Applying identical settings will not make differently framed source photos identical; check each result before publishing.
